Kids work it as a pretend city; parents keep mentioning the in-jokes. There's a serious dress-up collection too, and one parent's daughter particularly loved the costume choices.
It runs on memberships as much as drop-ins, and the reviews read accordingly — regulars rather than one-off visitors, one describing it as what an apartment-dwelling family gets instead of a suburban basement. Classes and evening events fill the calendar; and one parent singles out being able to drop the children off for a few hours. Babies to seven, with the older end kept interested by the costumes and the pretend play rather than by anything to climb.
One thing to check before you travel, because the photos still don't show it: the entrance had a step, and it has since been altered. A parent who uses a wheelchair came on the strength of the online pictures and couldn't get in — a step down past the door, and a gate too narrow to pass. She returned about three months later to find both had been adjusted, got inside, spent the morning there and raised her rating. Call ahead if that affects you. A separate reviewer found the toys showing wear, missing parts and batteries, which sits oddly beside the many reviews calling the room immaculate.
