About
For a child who finds the big play barns too much, this is the corrective. Reviewers reach for the same words without prompting — calm, quiet, peaceful, not overstimulating — and the age it genuinely fits is roughly eighteen months to four, the in-between stage that the larger venues around here serve worst.
It is small and it is new, and both show. The play is pretend-led rather than physical: a vet's surgery, an ice cream shop, books and stuffed animals, soft climbing, and a section partitioned off for the smallest. There is a coffee and snack bar, and, unusually, a few tables set up as a work space — two parents give that as the reason they can stay a couple of hours rather than one. It is owner-run and the reviews make that obvious, with character mornings, rotating themes and new events appearing constantly. Size is the trade: one visitor found it crowded and untidy on a busy session, which is the risk in a room this small.
