The child this works for is fairly specific - roughly four to nine, content to spend an hour with their hands in something, and not arriving expecting a playground. It is a small River Market room of slime bowls and giant bubble wands, with stations set at two heights so the smallest are not reaching over their heads, and an hour is the visit rather than an afternoon. Where it genuinely stands out is sensory provision: a dedicated sensory room, deliberate places to take a break, and background music pitched not to overwhelm. A reviewer who was otherwise unimpressed still went out of her way to thank them for that room, and another watched a member of staff sit with an upset boy and talk him through what he was feeling.

One expectation is worth correcting before you go. The slime is pre-made. Two separate visitors turned up expecting to mix their own and found the activity was choosing charms to stir into a ready-made bowl; both said so gently and both were disappointed. That, with the size of the room, is behind the recurring verdict that it is thin for the money - and every adult pays full admission whether they play or only watch.

For a party, read the guest count closely. Packages are quoted for a set number of guests and attending parents count toward that number, which at an activity where parents necessarily stay and help is most of the room. One host planned for children only and was billed for the overage. Ask before you book. The bubbles, incidentally, are what the children talk about afterwards.
