Read enough of the reviews and one story keeps recurring: a party planned for a park, rain or flooding in the forecast, and this place booked days later as the replacement. Three separate families describe exactly that, and all three report the same outcome, walking in to a decorated room with food and favors already laid out and almost nothing left to do. Whatever else it is, it is South Philadelphia's rain plan.

Open play is the smaller half of the operation. It runs in a narrow window in the middle of the day and closes its booking before the session starts, so it is not somewhere to decide on at lunchtime. A single visit is sold, but the pricing leans hard toward coming back: a multi-visit pack drops the cost per day, and a family membership covers everyone at once.

It is in the basement of the Bok building, a converted school, which is less awkward than it sounds: the stroller and wheelchair entrance is round the side with a lift down, though the alternative is an external stairwell. Parking is the one thing reviewers grumble about and they are careful to blame the neighborhood rather than the venue.
