About
Treat the children's room here as a climbing room rather than a play space and the trip makes sense; treat it as a soft-play alternative and it will not. It is a thousand square feet with its own auto-belays, reserved for two- to five-year-olds, and it carries its own day rate and its own multi-visit pass — a real facility rather than a corner of the gym with a mat thrown down. One visiting climber called it among the best children's areas they had seen anywhere, down to the chairs made out of crash pads.
The catch arrives on a child's sixth birthday. Past five there is no children's room at all; an older child joins the main walls, which means a safety orientation or an introductory session first, on the adult track and priced accordingly. That is a perfectly good outing for a seven-year-old — one parent describes exactly that, and warmly — but it is a different sort of day, and it is not one you can decide on at the door.
The walls themselves divide opinion honestly. One regular is glad they are short because it means more climbing per visit; another arrived expecting more than bouldering height and said so. Two separate reviewers, more than a year apart, describe being billed after trying to cancel or freeze a membership, and those accounts are worth reading before you sign anything. The quiet stretch is weekday afternoons before four.
