Planet Play

About

Weekend open play here fits around the birthday parties, not the other way round. On Saturdays and Sundays it runs only in the later afternoon and evening, Friday's early-evening slot opens only if nobody has booked a party, and on weekends and school breaks you reserve and pay in advance: same-day cancellations aren't refunded, and walk-ins are turned away once it's full. Weekdays are the easy option, open from morning, and one visitor found it almost empty on a Monday evening.

It is a compact place, and the operators are upfront that the jungle gym is 700 square feet. Around it sit a space-themed bounce house, a padded toddler corner for two and under, and a retro-looking arcade, with a game card included in the ticket. Parents get a café with lattes and massage chairs, and one reviewer was plainly glad of the chair.

Everyone, adults included, takes their shoes off and wears socks. The venue also runs Sensitive Space sessions, two-hour playtimes for children with special needs that it describes as judgment-free.
