Sand is the draw and it is done properly — a large indoor sandpit, soft and clean, that gives a small child the beach without the mess, sitting alongside a ball pit and a cafe serving real food and coffee rather than vending-machine fare.
The thing to know is that this is no longer the same venue. It changed hands, shut for building work and reopened redesigned around that sand room, and the reviews divide cleanly either side of the change: the older ones describe scattered toys, grubby equipment, dead batteries and a ball pit in poor repair, while everything written since the reopening is about how clean and considered it now feels. If something you read once put you off, it was probably written about the previous operation.
It is aimed squarely at under-fives, and an adult can see the whole floor from a table. Ring ahead rather than just driving over: it closes to the public for private bookings, and one family made the trip in the cold to find the door shut under an open-seven-days sign. A monthly membership exists if you are close enough to come weekly.
